Born in Nuvema Town to a single disengaged mother, Verity spent almost all her time either hanging out with Cheren and Bianca, or exploring the nearby forests. Doing this without a partner Pokémon allowed her to become very adept at navigating casual wild Pokémon encounters without conflicts. As a young girl, she dreamed of escaping her small town and exploring the large cities to get away from it all, but as she got older, began to just want to find a quiet spot to rot in. Cheren and Bianca worked with the professor to set up a summer adventure to get Verity's spirit and drive back, as well as explore the region themselves.
At first she just went along with them, though found she was skilled at Pokémon battles. Hearing the Plasma rallies got her intrigued though, as she immediately sensed they were up to no good, and began to invest her energies into following them and learning exactly what they are up to. While she has a righteous cause, she often goes too far in her desire to find out the truth, and particularly to the detriment of herself and Black.
What she doesn't know is that her mother was a young girl who wanted to escape her own life once upon a time, and ended up in the opposite situation, joining Team Plasma in its early days. She realized it was a cult and not a safe place for her to be in only after becoming pregnant. She escaped and lived in a trailer in a middle-of-nowhere rural town (Nuvema), constantly paranoid of being found out, but never was. She was originally going to give up Verity, but decided against it. While she doesn't regret keeping her in the end, she's still not a great motherly figure.
Was the younger prince of Alleos, aka the Prince of Truth, aka the White Prince. By this point in history, the kingdom was established in what would be central Unova, and they were looking to expand their reach. The two princes were in heavy disagreement over who's methods for expansion and leadership were better for years, leading to them seeking out the legendary dragon of the region to choose a side. Somehow, whether through natural or intervened methods, the dragon split into three, and Reshiram sided with this prince.
Going forward, Reshiram and the prince have a... close relationship. The prince's relationship with his brother also quickly degraded more as Reshiram and Zekrom's rivalry fuelled their own, eventually leading to full on war.
Main character energy. A girl who was childhood friends with Cheren and Bianca and decided to get away from her shitty life in the nearby town to become a farmer. She quickly fit into the lifestyle and is treated as a local by most in the village.
Nuvema, being a small town, was able to be ignored for the most part by Plasma. Verity just ignored the issues happening around the rest of Unova like a typical teen, and brushed it off as an annoyance that there were issues getting supplies for cheap in town, there isn't any new non-propaganda flicks coming out, and things like that. Eventually, they did take over the town in full, and Verity started to feel guilt over not taking the situation seriously earlier.
Her mother, as usual, was not much of a help or support through any of it, so Verity decided to run away and join an anti-Plasma commune she learned about, eventually taking on a decently sized support role there. And then, she comes across a little spy... and becomes the main person trying to squeeze info out of Black.
