A young boy from Pallet Town that's been mute since birth. He's always been praised for being smart, quiet, and polite, causing him to develop a spoilt and bratty attitude, but he tries not to let it show. He appears mysterious to most people, but he's really not, and if he is able to talk to anyone he will ramble and get into idle gossip. Wants to take on the Indigo League.
He secretly loves how every adult dotes on him, and lets the idea that he has so much "potential" go to his head. Ends up having trouble on his journey as he's not used to not having Kaori/Shigeru/his mom around to translate for him. On the other hand, his reputation as the silent, cool, and nice boy grows, despite him being a shittalker at heart. He plays up his cool reputation for his benefit, but grows tired of it, until eventually he runs away, two years after his initial league journey.
Haruo (始央) is some sort of traveller like his sister, Haruna, like a less-serious ronin. He went off on his own first. Frequently comes across odd situations of people knowing him and accusing him of weird stuff, which he has no memory of.

Iori ends up on Shigeru's family's ranch, and still cannot escape his sister's grasp.
