Can be from either the royal family of the region, or the most important old-money family of the region, that's descended from royalty. Depends if the royal family's still around. Will write as if it's still active, but can be switched around either way easily.
The middle child of the Galarian royal family. Having an older brother (more important) and younger sister (cute baby of the family), means he was always a bit of the overlooked child. He also naturally has a bit of an awkward personality, which doesn't help matters. He easily learned the rules and expectations he needs to follow to not stand out, but always struggled with casual conversation and relationships, something he wants to fix more than ever after he turned 13.
He ended up pouring a lot of attention on his Pokémon. Sirfetchd was gifted to him first as his protector, and he raised his Inteleon from a Sobble (though it was formally trained to also be a bodyguard alongside his friendly raising). He also doted on his servant (Indeedee) and the palace ghost (Sinistea), meaning he already had a 4-stack team ready to go when he decided to pull a bold stunt: signing up for the league.
League battling is seen as a very un-posh thing to do, so his family would never let him actually sign up. But that year, when his family went on an annual trip to one of their summer homes, he stayed behind with some excuse of a summer event, and signed up under the name Vic. He also dyed his hair brown, and got some casual adventuring clothes.
He ended up getting the attention of Sonia through his knowledge of Galarian history and legends, and this led to him meeting Hop and Mally and travelling with them (much to their annoyance of dealing with super uber-rich posh boy).
Rose and the Sword+Shield twins figure out who Vic is and plan to kidnap him as part of their plan to bring about the Darkest Day. Rose wants to get rid of the royal family as he believes they're an outdated establishment (and naturally he should replace them!). The twins believe they're the rightful heirs to the throne. Either way, Vic is 13, and does not understand the drama he's been thrown into.
The first Pokémon he catches on his own is a Nickit, which grows to have a rivalry with Gloria's Boltund. He also catches a Yamask to try and evolve into the elusive Galarian Runerigus. It's a bit... dangerous.
Galar is one of the few regions of the world that has strict segregation between non-humans and humans. It was originally a non-human isle, so they still rule, with humans having a minor government underneath this rule. Elric is part of this elven royal family. He's technically old, but still has the usual mental age of 13.
As usual, he's seeking out adventure, and ends up wandering into Gloria's human village. He's mistaken for being "just" an aristocrat, and Hop (of a human aristocratic family) decides to talk to him and help show him around a bit, much to Gloria's disagreement. Things quickly go downhill.
