After watching some Rags to Riches on YouTube, I decided I really wanted to do my own on Sims 1. Unfortunately, while I was able to get the game to work on my own, while streaming the game would mysteriously malfunction. Pop-ups wouldn't be visible (but would still be clickable), and the game would crash when going to work. Bummer. While quitting that attempt, I realized that not only was Sims 3 still installed, it had some TF already in the neighbourhood. And so began Tailgate Tail Gate's adventure to riches.

Basically the rules are:

• Start with $0 and get to a net worth of $100,000
• Get to top level of a career
• Have a 3 bed, 2 bath house
• Fulfill the lifetime goal (in this case, family)

Tailgate started with the traits Family-Orientated, Absent-Minded, Unlucky, Proper, and Easily Impressed. Upon spawning, she wanted to join the journalism career, so I figured might as well. After heading over to the building to apply, she immediately almost got hit by a meteorite...

Headed over to the gym to chug some drinks and shower, (then I finally remember TS3 has collectibles), so she headed back over to the meteor and got $4,000 in space rocks. With that, she had enough money to start on a little house with the things she wanted to buy, starting with a bed, stove, fridge, toilet, and shower. SheI didn't have quite enough money to finish building walls, which was unfortunate when it started to rain. Before that though, she hung around town to socialize and ran into Shockwave, who she immediately hit it off with.

Also, Hot Rod was standing in the shelves the whole time.

The first few days of her job passed by mostly uneventfully, besides wanting to start writing a sci-fi novel. The fall festival rolled around and we got a "Why is Drift the bus driver" moment.

Finally, Shockwave called her, and... zombies spawned at the same time?! (To be honest, I never played TS3 with Supernatural before, so I didn't even realize these were in the game to this degree.) One got stuck outside her door tweaking, and also she herself spawned as a zombie... and immediately walked off and got into a car?! Okay.

Well this event shocked me enough to get a screencap of how her house is coming along. She's been able to get herself a sink, table, and chair, along with finishing the walls and roof. So now she just complains about the dark instead of the rain and cold.

Despite getting a cooking skill and equipment early into this challenge, she still always gets a juice box when she comes home from work and sits there drinking it, staring at the wall. Since Shockwave keeps calling her, and called her attractive, she wrote a loveletter back eagerly.

Struggling with getting her fun stat up, she wished for a TV and I complied. Now her after work activity became watching kids TV while ignoring the sink that explodes every day. Shockwave wrote back, telling her to never do that again.

This time was mainly just working on getting some of her basic skills up, so nothing else particularly intersting happened... besides running into the cons yet again. First, Megatron playing with some random kid in a park. Tailgate introduced herself properly, and he decided to scare and insult her in return.

Then, while working on her novel, Shockwave showed up to read... barefoot. Soundwave decided to show up too, where Tailgate decided to flirt with him in front of Shockwave. She didn't react. Bee decided to show up with no supervision and with facepaint on, despite the festival ending days ago. Okay.

And so the first part ends, with Tailgate having the bare necessities of life and one promotion. We're getting there, girl!

Bonus: despite being ran on my NASA supercomputer of a rig, the game still likes to choke and display oddities often.
